Frequently asked questions
What photo and signature size do SSC, UPSC and bank exams need?
Bank exams (IBPS / SBI): photo 200 × 230 px, 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB. SSC: the photo is captured live inside the form — only the signature is uploaded, 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB. UPSC: photo and signature 350 × 350 px, 20–300 KB. This tool has all of these as one-click presets. Exam rules can change with each notification, so always cross-check your official notice.
Why do exam forms reject my photo or signature?
The most common reasons are: file size outside the KB range, wrong pixel dimensions, wrong format (they want JPG), a blurry or dark photo, a signature touching the edges, or a photo that is too old. This tool fixes the size, pixels and format automatically — use a recent, clear photo on a plain light background to avoid the other problems.
Is this exam photo resizer really free and private?
Yes. It is 100% free with no sign-up and no watermark. Your photo and signature are processed inside your browser — they are never uploaded to any server, which matters because these are your identity documents.
My signature file is below the minimum KB. What does the tool do?
Some forms reject files that are too small as well as too big. If your resized signature is under the minimum, the tool first raises the JPEG quality, and if needed adds invisible padding data to the file so it lands inside the required KB range — the picture itself does not change.
What file name should I upload to the exam portal?
This tool downloads your files as photo.jpg and signature.jpg — the simple names most portals (including UPSC) ask for. Avoid special characters or long names in the file name.
The form asks for a size that is not in the presets. What can I do?
Choose the Custom preset and type the exact width, height and KB range from your exam notification. The tool will crop, resize and fit your image to those numbers.
